Following on from my post last month about Google's Panda update, we'll look this month at what website owners can do themselves in terms of free SEO.
We know how vitally important good content is for high search engine positions or SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages), and since Panda (/BlogRetrieve.aspx?BlogID=2537&PostID=66153), all business owners now have to think of new, but ethical, ways of to increase their website's rankings and keep their site(s) at the top. In general terms, most SEO is best left to those who have an in-depth knowledge of the subject but there are so many things that a layman can do to further build on the good work already done by the SEO techs. In this article, we'll look at a free seo tip that anyone can use to increase the relevance of their website in the eyes of Google, Bing and Yahoo and obtain better SE rankings. The Panda (also known as Farmer) update which Google started using around March/ April time 2011 has been the cause of much discussion of late. Many business owners will know about Panda because of the damage it has done to their website rankings; others may be loving Panda because their sites now rank higher. As you might expect, we come across clients in both camps. We’d love to know how it’s affected you.
Panda, named after a Google algorithm engineer, has certainly made its mark but it’s also taught us a lot about the way Google is changing the web (for good).
