A Wysi review of 2011

As a technology company we love to look forward to all the new exciting things happening in 2012 but as a business it’s important to reflect on the year that has passed. 2011 has been a great year for Wysi in many respects and we thank our clients for their support and custom. It’s been a year of growth and maturity which has allowed us to plan very positively for 2012. 2011 hasn’t been without its problems and new challenges but we’re very pleased to see we’ve risen to the challenges and are stronger as a result. It’s very easy to ignore the good bits so I’d like to mention a few wins of 2011. We won Newbury Showground (NDAS) as a client back in April and they have recorded great results since having the new site. At the same time we also won a project with Chatham House (ECRAN) and worked closely with one of our partners to deliver that within 2 weeks! We aim to launch our full portfolio early next year to show all our other work ..

Wysi Website M.O.T.

When browsing the internet day in day out, we always come across websites that really need to be introduced to 2011. So we came up with an idea: we are conducting free Wysi website M.O.T’s to show you any problems that may exist with your website and how they can be fixed. If you’ve received an email from us you’re probably wondering why you haven’t passed your Wysi website M.O.T... Well here are some possible reasons: 1. Your website is outdated... on average a website has a life span of 2 and half years and it’s extremely important to stay ahead of the competition. Such as following trends and having a strong online presence. 2. It’s very difficult to find you when searching through search engines (/_bpost_2537/SEO_is_either_a_complete_waste_of_money,_too_costly,_or_free)... unfortunately your website was not found when looking on google for your products/services. A potential sale missed out on, actually not just 1 po ..

Get the most from your website in 2011

Make 2011 a year of change and improvement; yes, you really can do it and it doesn't cost a fortune either. Perhaps you've had a website for a few years now, but what does it actually do? Does it earn its keep ('wash its face', as they say)? Is it just a liability? Do you regard your website as just another thing you have to pay out for every year? Haven't got time? Don't know how to change it? If the answer to even just one of the above is yes, something is wrong. Your website should be the most important and valuable asset your business could ever have. Sweeping statement? Maybe. But let's take a quick look. . . Your website is your shop window to the world. Does your shop window say 'CLOSED'? How easy is your website for people to navigate and find what they want? Pretty designs do not always make for easy use. Visit your own website and run a human usability check on it! If you're not sure, just ask us to take a look. It's free. Call us on 0845 003 8087 and we'll te ..

Choosing the right web developer or web designer

(/business-websites/Services/our-services) How do you choose the right web development company or web designer (/business-websites/Graphic-Designers/graphic-design) for your needs? Design v. Business Anyone can design a website, right? Well, almost! But it's not about the design really, is it? It's all about the understanding. Not just boring stuff like HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript and all that - it's more about understanding business (/business-websites/business-websites-by-wysi). Some questions to ponder Here are some helpful questions to ask yourself (and your web developer) about your new project:- What is the primary aim of the new website? (Attract more business (/business-websites/Social-Media/social-media-networking)?) How is it going to be found? (SEO (/business-websites/Search-Engine-Optimisation/search-engine-optimization-experts), PPC (/business-websites/Internet-Marketing-Experts/web-marketing-consultants), other?) What required fun ..

SEO is either a complete waste of money, too costly, or free

Which one would you choose? If you've ever been tempted to use one of those SEO companies that promises much and delivers very little, you'll understand my post title! If not, you might want to take a few minutes and save yourself a packet. SEO - a complete waste of your money. Not only do you risk getting your website banned on the major search engines, but you'll pay twice: once to discover that there is no 'easy fix' to SEO and again to have a reputable SEO company (/business-websites/Search-Engine-Optimisation/search-engine-optimization-experts) do it the right way. Any SEO company that promises you a number one result for your website (without carrying out a full appraisal of your site, the competition, your hosting server, IP address and other critical data), cannot be serious. Many of these firms may actually get your website onto the first page or so, but for how long? The trick is to use linking systems that fire umpteen thousand links across to your site in the s ..
