As the whole web and IT industry moves away from antiquated stand-alone systems, we now talk about `Cloud Computing`. For some, the idea of files floating about in cyberspace has always been worrying, but it's not like that at all!

In a `conventional set-up`, data is stored on a variety of PCs and servers scattered around business premises. Just when you want to collate all of that data, you find that the secretary has taken the laptop home! Cloud computing is all about being to access what you want, when you want it - and it's the future.

Is it safe?

Yes, completely safe. Our system uses an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encrypted connection to verify username and password at log in. Only someone with the log in credentials would know how to log in, or for that matter where to log in. Our system also tracks all log ins and allows you to see who has logged in and when. As an added security measure, you can restrict access to known (safe) IP addresses, such as your home or a client's or associate's IP address.

Secondary levels of security and protection can also be configured, such as server-side PHP sessions and double validation on login.

What sort of data can I store?

Pretty much anything you like from pictures of your family to the company's annual reports. We have clients in the film industry who use their server space for large video files, which they can share with clients and other film makers etc.

What is the server type?

Whatever you want it to be. We cover all options, specifications, performance options etc. If you do not need your own server, we can allow you protected access to one of our shared virtual servers at a reduced cost.

We offer Linux Ubuntu and Windows 2003-2008 (+ CentOs and Debian operating systems on our dedicated servers only).
