I started out in 'web' in the mid-1990's, having retrained in IT and computer programming. In those days Google had not even been 'born'!
My roles are split between heading up the busy SEO department at Wysi and mapping out more complex bespoke development projects (usually large databases). With an ever-growing client-base, my days can be long but the results always make it worthwhile.
Outside of work my interests are the 'great outdoors'. Our newly acquired black lab x puppy (Darcy) helps me get lots of exercise!
It's Darcy dog! He's a year old now and has responded well to puppy training. He's full of energy but is very affectionate and usually well-behaved.
I cannot abide instant coffee! I refuse to drink it. That's why I insisted we installed a decent coffee machine. Now I am a barrister - no, not barrister, barista innit?
I used to live in the south of France a few years ago where I learnt a little of the language, soaked up the sun and the odd drop of wine. It was while I lived in France that I got into programming and database development.
I 'cut my teeth' in SEO and web in the mid-1990s and ran One Step Ahead - a Berkshire search engine optimisation and web development company. Luke and I formed Wysi in 2009. We've grown a bit since then...
I love giving good customer service and watching customer websites climb to the top of Google. I've always been passionate about SEO and despite the many challenges that Google has thrown at the world, we've got it licked now.
